Pinnacle Security Customers May Be Eligible for Refunds

1/18/2012

File a Complaint by Feb. 10, 2012

If you have a complaint against Pinnacle Security for a transaction that occurred on or after Dec. 17, 2008, you may be eligible for a refund as part of a recent settlement.

The settlement, announced by Attorney General DeWine on Dec. 13, 2011, resolved a 2010 lawsuit that charged Pinnacle Security with violating Ohio consumer law by installing security systems in Ohioans’ homes based on misrepresentations and failing to honor consumers’ cancellation requests, among other violations.

To resolve the lawsuit, Pinnacle Security agreed to change certain business practices and pay more than $75,000 in restitution to 169 Ohio consumers and additional restitution to consumers who file eligible complaints with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office by Feb. 10, 2012.

Affected consumers should file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov or by calling 800-282-0515 not later than Feb. 10, 2012.
