Join Us for National Consumer Protection Week

2/23/2012

According to a 2011 poll by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, 64% of Americans say they don't have enough cash available to cover a $1,000 emergency.

With so many consumers living on the brink of financial crisis, National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 4-10, 2012, aims to help consumers make informed financial decisions through a coordinated consumer education campaign.

During NCPW, groups nationwide share tips and information to help consumers protect their privacy, manage money and debt, and avoid costly scams.

Get involved

In Ohio, Attorney General Mike DeWine's office is partnering with government and nonprofit organizations to host educational events throughout the state. You can find the event list at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/NCPW.

Participate by taking one of the following steps:

Have a problem with something you bought? Let us know.

In addition to NCPW, the Ohio Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section works year-round to prevent fraud and unfair business practices in the marketplace. The section investigates and takes legal action against unfair and deceptive business practices and provides education to Ohioans about consumer laws and scams.

The office also provides a free complaint resolution program for consumers, small businesses, and nonprofits.

If you have a problem with something you purchased, file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The office will work with you and the business to try to resolve the issue.
