On October 15, 2016, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Columbus Police officers were called to 1427 Oakland Park Avenue (Oakland Park Bar and Grill) on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, later identified as 27yr old DeShawn Jones, slumped over behind the wheel of his vehicle across the street from the bar. Mr. Jones was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was unresponsive. Clinton Township Medic 132 responded and pronounced Mr. Jones deceased at 2:06 a.m.
