Advocating Opportunity provides trafficking victims pro bono legal and support services that are comprehensive, holistic and trauma-responsive. It also assists families to ensure that trafficked and exploited individuals have a stable home environment with organic supports. AO combats human trafficking and labor exploitation using an approach that is human rights-based and client-led striving to empower the individual on on his or her terms, remain non-judgmental, and connect the individual’s rights to his/her well-being and, when desired, to the prosecution of traffickers. Advocating Opportunity is part of the Lucas County Human Trafficking Coalition, Lucas County Domestic Violence Task Force, and the Central Ohio Reach and Restore Coalition.
