Decertification of Medical Providers

The BWC has implemented a Health Partnership Program, which is basically managed health care for injured workers.  Medical providers and managed care organizations (MCO) must meet certain criteria to participate in the program.  If the BWC indicates intent to deny or revoke certification, then the medical provider or MCO has the right to file an administrative appeal, whereby our section prosecutes the matter on behalf of the BWC.  All parties have a right to call witnesses and present evidence at such hearings. The parties also have the right to further appeal to court.  R.C. 4121.44 and  OAC 4123-6-17.
