An excellent array of speakers and workshops is planned for the Ohio Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Conference, set for Oct. 25–26 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus.
A look at this year’s speakers:
- FBI Special Agent George Piro leads the group that interrogates detainees thought to have information most likely to prevent terrorist attacks. In a previous FBI role, he spent seven months interrogating Saddam Hussein and other Iraqi figures.
- Jason Thomas had just completed active military duty when the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred. He donned his uniform and rushed to the World Trade Center, where he and another Marine dug through rubble to save two Port Authority police officers.
- Jack Park is a noted football radio personality with the Ohio State Football Radio Network and Columbus station 97.1 FM. A former business executive, he also is a leadership development advisor and author.
With a theme of Protecting Ohio’s Children, the conference — organized by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy — will feature 30 workshops on officer-involved shooting investigations, opiates, child sex trafficking, survival mindset training, responses to the Chardon school shooting and Muskingum County exotic animal release, and other topics.
