Recognizing the necessity of having highly trained victim advocates in the service field, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has designed a program focused on the expansion of knowledge and training for victim service providers. Basic Advocacy Skills in Crime Victim Services (BASICS) is a one week intensive training course for victim advocates.
BASICS is offered annually in August or September. Applications are made available in January and are due by June 1 every year. Applications are approved on a first come, first serve basis. For the past several years we have had a waitlist. You are encouraged to apply early.
