Have a complaint?

File a complaint about a consumer transaction

The Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office provides an informal and voluntary process to resolve disputes between consumers and businesses. If you have a complaint regarding a consumer transaction (the advertisement or purchase of a product or service for the home or for personal use), you can file a complaint online or call 1-800-282-0515.

File a complaint about an unwanted call

If you’ve received an unwanted  robocall, the Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office asks you to complete our Unwanted Call Notification form to report the information. The process is crucial in identifying and addressing illegal robocall activities, ensuring that consumers are protected from unwanted – and often fraudulent – calls.

File a complaint with Charitable Law

Complaints about a charitable organization, professional solicitor, bingo licensee, or bingo manufacturer/distributor are handled by the Charitable Law Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted. Your complaint will remain on file with our office and the information within it may be used to establish a violation of Ohio law.

File a complaint about integrity in hiring

Effective March 2026, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office is tasked with investigating and taking action against nonresidential-construction companies intending to work in Ohio that fail to verify their employees’ work status/ability to work within the United States. This duty is authorized under Ohio’s e-Verify Workforce Integrity Act. Complaints about workforce integrity should be directed to 1-800-282-0515.
