Attorney General DeWine Certifies Petition for Legislative Redistricting Amendment

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today certified the petition for the proposed legislative redistricting amendment to the Ohio Constitution.

On March 19, 2012, the Ohio Attorney General's Office received a written petition to add and repeal language to the Ohio Constitution from the committee to represent the petitioners. The submission was certified today as containing both the necessary 1,000 valid signatures from registered Ohio voters and a "fair and truthful" summary of the proposed amendment.

Attorney General DeWine Calls for Oversight of Internet Cafes, Gambling

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced he is recommending legislation to establish oversight of gaming that takes place at internet cafes and similar establishments. The proposal will address electronic games that look like slot machines, which can mislead players and cause confusion for law enforcement.

Attorney General DeWine Awards Missing in America Project $6,000 Veterans Charity Grant

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today awarded a $6,000 veterans charity grant to the Missing in America Project. The grant was funded by proceeds recovered in the investigation of the U.S. Navy Veterans Association, a fraudulent charity scam which solicited donations intended to benefit veterans.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that 201 local law enforcement agencies across the state will receive $3.5 million in funding for drug use prevention programs through the Attorney General’s Drug Use Prevention Grant.

Attorney General DeWine Authorizes Action to Challenge Constitutionality of Health Care Law

Similar to an AMBER Alert, which notifies the public of a kidnapped child, a Blue Alert will rapidly broadcast information to the public advising them of an at-large suspect who has killed, seriously injured, or kidnapped an Ohio peace officer.
