Brothers Accused of Unfair Business Practices

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against two brothers who operated Toledo Appliance Repair. Roger Sutherland and Shawn Wheeler, both of Toledo, are accused of performing shoddy work and misrepresenting their services. The Attorney General is seeking consumer restitution, an injunction to stop further violations, and civil penalties.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Agreement with Teen USA to Stop Charitable Solicitations

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced an agreement with Teen USA and Darien E. Smith of Cleveland to cease charitable solicitations in Ohio and to pay $10,000 to the Attorney General’s office. Through the organization, teens went door-to-door selling candy but the money was not used for charitable purposes.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today the indictment of the owners of All Seasons of Kentucky Inc. for stealing more than $139,000 from 35 victims in a storm-chasing roofing scam in Lawrence County, Ohio.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Belmont County Sheriff David Lucas announced today that a man already facing child pornography charges in Columbiana County is now facing charges of rape and gross sexual imposition in Belmont County.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Clinton County Sheriff Ralph Fizer Jr., and Clinton County Prosecutor Richard Moyer announced today the indictments of three village of Martinsville employees on charges including theft in office.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Conclusion of Investigation into Death of Jacob Limberios

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that the special grand jury investigating the death of Jacob Limberios returned no indictments and issued a report that the death was not a suicide. The BCI investigation gathered new evidence showing Limberios was likely holding the weapon at very close range when it fired accidentally without a trigger pull.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Formation of New Heroin Unit

“There is a heroin epidemic in Ohio,” said Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today in a news conference to announce disturbing new figures about the use of heroin in the state.  The data, gathered from coroners across the state, show that the use of heroin has increased dramatically over the last four years.

Ohio to Receive $716,624 in Google Multistate Settlement

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, along with the attorneys general of 36 other states and the District of Columbia, announced today a $17 million settlement with Google Inc. concerning its placement of third-party cookies on Safari Web browsers during 2011 and 2012.
