Attorney General DeWine Announces 22-Year Sentence in Drug Trafficking Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that an Ohio man will spend more than two decades in prison for trafficking drugs in northwest Ohio.

No Bill Returned in Ottawa County Grand Jury Reviewing Woodmore Football Case

After a thorough investigation by both the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and by attorneys in his office, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today reported the Ottawa County Grand Jury has returned a no bill regarding events that occurred on or about Sept. 10, 2013, involving the Woodmore High School football team and any related events. The Grand Jury met over two days and heard testimony from 49 witnesses.

Second Indictment Issued by Steubenville Special Grand Jury

Demolition Grant Program Update Shows 6,000 Abandoned Properties Demolished

Ohio Attorney General DeWine announced today that his Demolition Grant Program has surpassed 6,000 properties demolished. DeWine provided an update on the program as part of a keynote address at a neighborhood revitalization conference in Columbus, "Revitalizing Ohio's Vacant Properties: Tools and Policies to Transform Communities," sponsored by the Greater Ohio Policy Center and Thriving Communities Institute.

Attorney General DeWine; Prosecutor McGinty Announce Guilty Pleas in Internet Café Gambling, Money Laundering Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty today announced that a New Jersey company that provides technology to so-called internet sweepstakes cafes will cease operations in Ohio after pleading guilty to felony charges related to operating a gambling enterprise and money laundering. In total, five defendants agreed to plead guilty as part of the illegal gambling enterprise organized by VS2 Worldwide Communications.

Two Zanesville Men Sentenced to Prison in Coshocton Pharmacy Healthcare Fraud Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that two former associates of a Coshocton pharmacist have been sentenced to prison in a health care fraud scheme alleged to have taken between $1 million and $2.5 million from state, federal, and private medical insurance companies through fraudulent billing practices. The defendants were sentenced yesterday in United States District Court in Akron.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine along with Prevent Blindness Ohio and the Ohio Optical Dispensers Board are warning consumers about the dangers of over-the-counter sales of decorative contact lenses during this Halloween season. According to the Optical Dispensers Board, the number of consumer complaints filed regarding the illegal sale of cosmetic contact lenses and the number of resulting cease and desist orders issued to violating businesses have shown a steady increase after a period of decline, not only during the Halloween season, but all year long.

Attorney General DeWine Announces $30 Million Multistate Settlement with Discount Club Marketer

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, along with 46 other states and the District of Columbia, announced today that Connecticut-based Affinion and its subsidiaries, Trilegiant and Webloyalty, will pay more than $30 million to settle allegations that they misled consumers into enrolling in discount clubs and memberships.
