(NEWARK, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General and Governor-Elect Mike DeWine issued the following statement on the death of prominent Newark attorney and philanthropist J. Gilbert "Gib" Reese:
“Gib Reese was a true visionary. He gave his time, his talent, and his financial resources for the greater good of all of the citizens in Newark and Licking County. He was always thinking about how to improve community resources and services to benefit everyone. He had a passion for education and the Newark Campus of the Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College. Fran and I send our condolences to his wife, Lou, their children, grandchildren and extended family at this sad time.”
