(COLUMBUS, Ohio)— Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine joined volunteers today to assemble toiletry kits for donation to Ohio domestic violence shelters.
Five-hundred kits were assembled during the Attorney General's Two Days in May Conference on Victim Assistance, which took place on Monday and Tuesday.
An additional 600 pre-assembled toiletry kits were donated by Thirty One Gives.
The kits, which contain items such as shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and deodorant, will be donated to the following domestic violence shelters across the state:
- Abuse and Rape Crisis Shelter - Warren County
- Auglaize County Crisis Center - Auglaize County
- Bethany House - Lucas County
- Christina House - Columbiana County
- Domestic Violence Project - Stark County
- Every Woman's House - Holmes and Wayne counties
- Family Abuse Shelter of Miami County - Miami County
- Family Crisis Network - Mercer County
- Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County - Greene County
- Forbes House - Lake County
- Harbor House - Tuscarawas County
- House of Ruth - Defiance, Henry, Fulton, Williams, and Paulding counties
- My Sister's Place - Athens County
- New Directions - Knox County&
- Pike County Partnership Against Domestic Violence - Pike County
- Project Woman - Clark, Champaign and Logan counties
- Rape Crisis Domestic Violence Safe Haven - Ashland County
- Safer Futures - Portage County
- The Domestic Violence Shelter - Richland County
- Tri County Help Center - Belmont, Harrison, and Monroe counties
Two additional domestic violence shelters received gift certificates from Salon Schools Group:
- Choices - Franklin County
- Foundations for Families - Franklin County
The project was conducted in partnership with the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.
