Father Indicted on Endangering Children, Felonious Assault Charges

5/19/2015

(COSHOCTON, Ohio)— Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today the indictment of a Coshocton man on charges of endangering children and felonious assault.

A Coshocton County Grand Jury indicted Christian Kibler, 21, last week on three counts of child endangering and one count of felonious assault.

The indictment, which was filed yesterday, follows an investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office which alleges that Kibler inflicted extensive traumatic injuries to his infant child earlier this month.

"The evidence gathered by investigators shows that the infant was alone with the defendant when these injuries were inflicted," said Attorney General DeWine.  "There is never an excuse for harming any child, let alone a child who is less than three months old and completely defenseless."

The case is being prosecuted by attorneys with Attorney General DeWine's Special Prosecutions Section working as part of Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative.

The child has been released from the hospital and is in the custody of his mother.

Kibler is in custody at the Coshocton County Jail.  A copy of the indictment can be found on the Attorney General's here.
