Attorney General DeWine Announces Sentencing in School Resource Officer Case

Attorney General Mike DeWine announced that former Cambridge city councilman and former Cambridge City School District school resource officer Paul D. Fields Jr. was sentenced today to six months in jail after he pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor sexual imposition and no contest to the charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material.

Verizon and Sprint Customers Have Until Dec. 31 to Seek Refunds from Cramming Settlements

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today reminded Verizon and Sprint customers that they have until Dec. 31 to seek a share of the $120 million allocated for consumers under national “mobile cramming” settlements announced earlier this year.

Attorney General DeWine Announces $150 Million Class Action Settlement with JPMorgan Chase over 'London Whale' Scandal

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a $150 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit with JPMorgan Chase & Co. over losses incurred by the bank's investors, including the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, in the wake of its “London Whale” trading scandal first revealed in 2012. The settlement class includes all persons who purchased JP Morgan common stock between April 13, 2012 and May 21, 2012.

Ohio Seeks Public Hearing from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over Cleveland Harbor Dredging Proposal

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that the state has filed a request for a public hearing over the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ proposed plan to place dredged material from the Cleveland Harbor directly in Lake Erie.

Update on Planned Parenthood Litigation

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that pursuant to court discussions in the federal litigation filed December 13th by Planned Parenthood, the Ohio Department of Health has agreed to not enforce the “humane disposal” section of the Ohio Administrative Code while the Department and the Ohio General Assembly work to further clarify humane procedures in the Ohio Revised and Administrative Codes.
