Attorney General Announces Arrest of Wanted Sex Offender

On Tuesday, as part of Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative, he and Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly asked for help finding Justin Lee Scott, a Sexually Oriented Offender who stopped registering his address with Clark County authorities in January.

Associate Sentenced in U.S. Navy Veterans Charity Theft Case

A woman who was involved in the theft of over $450,000 Ohio charitable dollars was sentenced to five years in prison by a Cuyahoga County Judge today, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced. Blanca Contreras had pled guilty on June 22 to one felony count each of theft, money laundering, tampering with records, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Attorney General DeWine, Five States Request U.S. Supreme Court Grant Review in Asian Carp Lawsuit

Five states including Ohio today requested that the United States Supreme Court grant review of a district court’s denial of their motion for a preliminary injunction in the states’ invasive species lawsuit. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and four other attorneys general filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari requesting the Court “grant review and reverse to abate an imminent threat to one of the most precious freshwater ecosystems in the world.”

Ashtabula County Tire Recycler Guilty of Unlicensed Operation

(ASHTABULA, Ohio) — Sanford Schroll and his company, American Scrap Tire Recyclers Inc. (ASTRI), pled guilty on Feb. 4 in Ashtabula County Court of Common Pleas to one count of operating an unlicensed scrap tire collection facility.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Denial of Appeal of Doctor’s License Revocation

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Attorney General Mike DeWine praised the Franklin County Court’s judgment this week affirming the revocation of the state medical license of James E. Lundeen Sr. on appeal. Last December, the Ohio State Medical Board voted to permanently revoke his medical license following the recommendation of a hearing examiner who found that Lundeen was overprescribing medication to patients at his offices in Portsmouth and Plymouth. The Attorney General's Office has been involved in the investigation and represented the Ohio State Medical Board at the license hearing and the appeal.

Another Wanted Sex Offender Found With Help From Public

According to authorities with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Jermaine Graham, 41, was arrested Wednesday morning on Van Buren Avenue by Cincinnati's Police Fugitive Unit. He'd been wanted on a warrant for Failure to Provide a Change of Address since January 2011.
