On February 26th, 2014, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine spoke at an event at the Ohio Statehouse honoring the Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. In 2013, DeWine announced that he was giving a $4.3 million grant to the Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs for their Great Futures for Ohio's Kids growth program. The grant was funded from the National Mortgage Settlement to assist at-risk youth affected by homelessness and foreclosure.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the Ohio Attorney General's Drug Abuse Community Forum series during the first community meeting in Portsmouth last year. Each meeting will give community members the opportunity to discuss drug abuse concerns with Attorney General DeWine and a panel of local experts. The Springfield forum was held on February 12, 2014.
