Active Shooter Response: An Educator's Guide

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office and Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) have developed “Active Shooter Response: An Educator's Guide,” a series of videos to provide guidance on ways to prepare for and react during a potentially violent school incident.

When viewing the video series and using the companion handbook, it is important to always refer back to your local plan. Each district and school is different. Schools should be careful to ensure that their plans consider the information presented in the video series and make choices that are best for their school and community.

Companion Workbook

This video companion workbook provides a summary, definitions, discussion points, and next steps for each video to aid presenters who wish to share the series with a group.
