Attorney General DeWine and 37 States Announce $40.75 Million Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Settlement

(Columbus, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, along with 37 other state attorneys general, announced today a $40.75 million settlement, pending court approval, with pharmaceutical companies GlaxoSmithKline, LLC (GSK) and SB Pharmco Puerto Rico, Inc. (SB Pharmco) to resolve concerns about their alleged substandard manufacturing processes.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today accepted a 2011 Equal Opportunity Day Award from the Columbus Urban League. The award recognized the Attorney General's Office for 17 years of ongoing support for the Minority Crime Victim Assistance Program (MCVAP).

Attorney General Announces Sentence of Business Owner

Carolyn Quinnie, owner of 3 Ease Home Health Care, was found guilty of felony theft in April.  Today a judge also sentenced her to a suspended sentence of 15 months in jail, with five years of community control.  An investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Attorney General's Office found that the 57-year-old was billing Medicaid for wheelchair transports for individuals who did not need them.

Agents in the Health Care Fraud Division of the Ohio Attorney General's Office said Rose Radovanic, who pleaded guilty to a felony charge of theft by deception, hired the home health aides, despite their criminal convictions, because they signed up elderly family members or friends to become clients of the company

On Tuesday, as part of Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative, he and Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly asked for help finding Justin Lee Scott, a Sexually Oriented Offender who stopped registering his address with Clark County authorities in January.

Associate Sentenced in U.S. Navy Veterans Charity Theft Case

A woman who was involved in the theft of over $450,000 Ohio charitable dollars was sentenced to five years in prison by a Cuyahoga County Judge today, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced. Blanca Contreras had pled guilty on June 22 to one felony count each of theft, money laundering, tampering with records, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
