Body Armor Grants Awarded

The Ohio Law Enforcement Body Armor Program – administered by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office – continues in fiscal year 2021 to provide grants to local law enforcement agencies to purchase body armor vests. In its first two years, the program awarded grants exceeding $5.4 million to 525 local law enforcement agencies in all 88 Ohio counties.

Funding for the program is provided by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as part of its Safety Intervention Grant Program. With a local match of 25 percent, agencies can receive up to $40,000 from the program. This interactive map locates the agencies that received funding in the first two years of the program and shows the amounts awarded.
