On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 3:18am, Columbus Police Officers were called to the Sunoco station at 1799 E. Hudson St. on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found David Gaines, 62, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. CFD Medic 16 transported Gaines to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased by attending physicians at 4:19am.
