On Saturday, August 30, 2008, at approximately 3:00am, several teens were throwing eggs at vehicles driving on Hilliard-Rome Road north of W. Broad Street; 16-year old Garrett Burton was one of the teens. As a result of one vehicle being struck, a yet unidentified male suspect pursued and shot Garrett. 16-year old Garrett died at the scene. Investigators are requesting the public’s help in solving this senseless murder.
