John joined the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Attorney General’s Office in 1999, after working for two years as an in-house attorney with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (“BWC”).  In his 15 years of workers’ compensation practice, interrupted only by a brief period of public utilities law and a military mobilization, John has represented the BWC, claimants and employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, and the BWC in employer and provider hearings.  He currently defends the BWC in workers’ compensation cases in the common pleas courts of Ohio; and defends the BWC and Industrial Commission against mandamus actions, up to, and including the Ohio Supreme Court. John has given presentations at several workers’ compensation conferences and continuing legal education seminars.
