Representing the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the Environmental Enforcement Section’s ODNR Unit, Gerald E. “Jed” Dailey is currently in his second stint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, having rejoined the office in July 2011.  In state courts across Ohio, Jed litigates real estate matters for his client, reviewing and negotiating real estate purchase agreements, easements, licenses, leases, rights of entry, permits, deeds and title reports.  Jed also represents ODNR in oil and gas cases before the Oil and Gas Commission and in state court. 
In his prior service with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Jed worked in the Federal Litigation Section (n.k.a. the Criminal Justice Section) and the Transportation Section.  In the Federal Litigation Section, Jed represented the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in both the state and federal courts, defending inmate lawsuits in the areas of habeas corpus and federal civil rights violations.  In the Transportation Section, Jed represented the Ohio Department of Transportation in eminent domain cases for the acquisition of real property for highway improvements.
Between his periods of service with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Jed was an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.  Jed drafted, reviewed and negotiated a variety of national and international business contracts for the purchase of various types of products and services, including computer hardware, maintenance, and software licenses for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and its affiliates and subsidiaries.
