He served as Ohio’s lead environmental attorney on the Volkswagen diesel-engine matter, facilitating the allocation of Ohio EPA’s share of a $2.9-billion federal trust for diesel-pollution-reduction projects in Ohio. Aaron assisted in the $1.71-million settlement with Sunny Farms Landfill that resolved alleged violations of past water pollution, solid waste and air pollution laws. He also served as Ohio’s lead appellate attorney in an asbestos enforcement case, where the court affirmed an $850,000 civil penalty against a demolition company and its owner for their violations.
Aaron also works on comments and appeals of rulemakings promulgated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, Aaron participates in the Ohio Attorney General’s Major Appeals Group, assisting the Office of the State Solicitor General in brief writing and oral argument preparation for cases significant to the State of Ohio.
Before joining the Ohio Attorney General’s Environmental Enforcement Section, Aaron was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office. He managed the juvenile-delinquency docket and prosecuted felony cases, juvenile delinquencies and child support cases.
