Foreclosure

Ohioans who are threatened by foreclosure have recourse. The Attorney General’s Office, in partnership with many state agencies and other groups, supports Save the Dream, Ohio's foreclosure-prevention resource. Callers to the Save the Dream hotline – (888) 404-4674 – can get information on the foreclosure process, how to contact mortgage servicers, what resources are available in each county, how to avoid rescue scams and what legal assistance and mediation is available.

Some counties have created Save Our Homes task forces to provide additional help to residents. These task forces work to connect homeowners with foreclosure prevention services and mobilize business, government, legal, non-profit and citizen resources to help deliver these services to the citizens who need them.
