Special Prosecutions

The Special Prosecutions Unit assists local county prosecutors with the preparation and presentation of major felony cases to grand jury and eventually trial. The cases may involve complex white collar investigations, murder, child sexual assault and allegations of criminal wrongdoing by public officials. The unit may assist local prosecutors, when local prosecutors request assistance and there is a lack of local resources to effectively handle these cases.

The unit also can be appointed by a court to act as a special prosecutor when a local county prosecutor has a conflict of interest.
