Precision Rifle Instructor
This course is the last of the three part series of the Precision Rifle Platform. Students will be able to master the fundamentals of this weapon and prepare them to successfully meet re-qualification certification as required by the OPOTC. Topics to be covered include: Marksmanship Fundamentals; Care and Maintenance; Shooting Positions (conventional and unconventional); Optic Sight Adjustments; Deployment; Firing Techniques; Use of Cover and Concealment; and Transition Drills. Students can expect to engage targets from 21 feet to beyond 200 yards. Participants will be required to pass the state qualification course of fire, perform student presentations, and pass a written exam. Some training may require an evening session to accommodate low level light scenarios.
Prerequisite: Students are expected to have at least certification in the Precision Rifle Operator course.
Equipment required: Each student will be required to bring a Precision Rifle system, and at least 250 rounds of Match Grade Ammunition.
*This course will be held at the Portage County Sheriff's Office Training Facility.
