Registration and Academy Information
Students can register for all OPOTA advanced training courses by submitting a completed registration form, with required authorizing signature, to OPOTA by e-mail, fax or mail.

Tuition, invoices and cancellations
Tuition varies for each course and is based on the cost of conducting the class, including instructors, training materials, course books, and location. The cost of each course is listed along with the course description in the course catalog.
The cost of meals is included in the tuition of classes held at the OPOTA-London campus, and overnight accommodations are available at the academy for $15 per night.
Invoices
Invoices are forwarded the following week after attendance. Checks or money orders are acceptable methods of payment. We do not accept credit cards or cash. Payment is due 30 days after receipt of invoice. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code section 131.02, delinquent accounts are certified to the Attorney General’s Collections Enforcement section for continued collection. Agencies and/or individuals with outstanding debts may not be permitted to register for future courses.
Cancellations
Cancellations are accepted four days prior to attending. No shows or no prior notification and late cancellations are charged half of the course fee.
Stand-by procedure
If a course enrollment has met capacity, then the individual is placed in the next session, including a course scheduled into the next calendar year.
Course attendance
Classes are generally held from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Breaks are scheduled at the end of each instructional hour with 20 minute breaks at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Lunch is usually one hour.
Course certificates
Certificates of completion are awarded at the conclusion of the course to individuals who have fulfilled course requirements. Ten percent or more absences will result in failure of the course.
Successfully completed certificates are issued with written performance and testing.
Participated in certificates are issued to students who have attended informational or seminar courses.
