On Thursday, September 25, 2008, President Bush signed into law the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008. The law takes effect January 1, 2009. This new law clarifies and broadens the definition of disability, and expands the population eligible for protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
