(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray today joined 39 attorneys general in a letter to Congress urging members to uphold the role of the states in enforcing consumer protection laws should Congress create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA).
The letter requests that states be permitted to enforce the new agency’s regulations to maximize government resources, promote honest competition and deter potential violators.
